Dr. Kris Bjorgen and wife, Jennifer, has been involved with the development of AIU since it's beginning in 2005. He has designed and helped construct many of the buildings on campus as well as assist in training many of the staff.
Dr. Bjorgen and Jennifer live in S. Carolina most of the time, but travel to the campus 2 - 3 times per year to teach at the university as well as assist in the overall administration of the campus. He is in daily contact with the school administration.

Meet our Vice Chancellor
Jim Gerhart has been in the ministry for about twenty-three years with his wife, Christal. He and Christal served the Lord as missionaries in Togo, West Africa for six years with ABWE.
Jim serves the Lord wearing two hats. Not only is he the Vice-Chancellor of AIU, but he also is the Director for Theological Education in all of Africa associated with ABWE (Association of Baptists for World Evangelism). Jim earned two masters degrees, an M.Div. and a Th.M.. and has worked on his PhD.
God has blessed their family with three children. Their oldest, James, who is 23, is the family’s musician. He lives outside of Tampa, Fl where he serves part-time at Idlewild Baptist Church leading worship as well as at Word of Life. Their daughter, Cassie, is 18 and is passionate about serving the Lord in Africa. She loves to work with orphans and enjoys hanging out with her African friends. She is the family artist and enjoys drawing and painting. Their youngest, Boaz, is 16 and loves playing sports and working with his hands.
Meet our Deputy Vice Chancellor
Sandwell Zgambo graduated from the first class at AIU in 2012. After graduation, Sandwell continued his education at Moody Theological Seminary, Chicago Illinois, where he earned his Master of Divinity (M Div) in December, 2016. Upon completing his master’s degree, Sandwell returned to his alma mater to teach.
Sandwell has taught a variety of courses including Biblical Hebrew, Bible Geography, Bible Ethics, Christ and Culture, Cults and marginal Groups, and Homiletics.
Sandwell serves not only as a lecturer, but as the Deputy Vice Chancellor, the head of admissions, and serves as a community relations’ officer.
Sandwell married Abigail Tembo and has one child (Jaynah Hope).
Sandwell’s favorite verse is Roman5:8 “But God demonstrated His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” NKV
